The S.W.A.G foundation is an after school program that caters to children 5 to 12 years of age. Our program provides students with homework help, recreational activities, and academic tutoring including but not limited to Reading and Literacy, Writing, Mathematics, and Science and History. Moreover, our students will learn and develop basic life skills needed to obtain their present and future goals.
Jessica Marcano, founder and president of the S.W.A.G Foundation, is a Hispanic woman of Black decent who was raised by her adoptive parents Luis and Milagros Marcano in The Bronx, New York. After watching her parents dedicate their lives to helping children with special needs, she was inspired to found the S.W.A.G Foundation to help special needs children in the form of tutoring, child care, and recreational activities.
Our mission is to inspire students to S.W.A.G for their goals in life. What does S.W.A.G stand for? S.W.A.G stands for See it (envision their goals), Want it (work towards their goals) Aspire to (stay determined on their goals when faced with obstacles) Get it (achieve said goals!). When students S.W.A.G, they are more likely to do better in school, learn new values and morals, which will come to use for them later on in life.
